Proverbs 31:10-31
This passage is often used, for a Mother's Day message. The twenty-two verses were written in the form of an acrostic in the original Hebrew language-,each verse begins with a letter of the Hebrew alphabet in its proper order. These verses are a tribute to the virtuous women, praising her deeds and character.
I am using the acrostic, WOMEN, to list five characteristics of the virtuous woman I feel all ladies could use as a pattern for their lives.
W- WISDOM. Proverbs 31:26a....She openeth her mouth with wisdom.
O- OBEDIENCE. Proverbs 31:30b....but a women that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.
M- MATURITY. Proverbs 31:25a...Strength and honor are her clothing.
E- EXAMPLE. Proverbs 31:28....Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
N- NEEDS Proverbs 31:20b...yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.
The ultimate tribute to the virtuous woman is found in Proverbs 31:29...Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.
This is my goal in my Christian walk, that this might be said of me.
We have been in the ministry since 1977. Our calling to the ministry has included pastoring, evangelism and disciple work, as well as missions. We have been married over 50 years and have three children who have blessed us with six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
