THE KINGDOM OF GOD

THE PROMISE

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Take therefore no thought for tomorrow: for tomorrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
Matthew 6:33,34 (Also, see James 4:13-15)

THE TEACHINGJesus is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. Revelations 19:16
His kingdom has come, is already here, and is yet to come. Jesus warned, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!” Matthew 3:2

THE PLAN

Jesus said, “ Verily I say unto you, Except you be converted, and become as little children, you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 18:3,4
In order to enter into the kingdom of God, we must become like little children with regard to our ability to believe, trust, forgive and obey.
Believe and receive Jesus as Saviour today!
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Romans 10:13

Recently, Gordon purchased a hummingbird feeder and hung it on a shepherd’s rod close to our front porch. It has been very entertaining and educational watching the birds as they feed.
The hummingbird is the smallest of birds. Their wings beat up to eighty times a second and because they can rotate their wings in a circle they are able to fly forward, backwards, up, down, sideways and hover in midair making their wings just a blur. They can fly non-stop five hundred miles over the Gulf of Mexico to migrate for the winter. What an amazing creature the Lord created!
Watching the hummingbird in action reminds me of how God supplies for even the tiniest of His creation. Why do humans fret over their needs? It is a lack of trust!
His provisions are plentiful; Philippians 4:19,
and His love is infinite; John 3:16.

HELP

THE PROMISE

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Who or what shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.
Romans 8:37

THE PLANGod is the source of our help in everything. He will never let us down!
But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Philippians 4:19

Recently, my sixty-seven year old cousin was killed in a car accident. He retired several years ago from a large pharmaceutical company but was working part-time as a driver for an eye specialist. He was on a run when he went through a stop sign and a semi hit him broadside.
Witnesses said, he stopped at the sign but then the vehicle rolled through the intersection.
It is thought he had a heart attack and was most likely dead before the semi hit him. There is some comfort in knowing he went quickly!
He and his wife were planning to celebrate their fiftieth wedding anniversary this year and he was planning to retire from the part-time job.
I said all of that to say….we make plans in this life but the most important plan we must make is, where will we spend eternity?
In life we have many choices but with eternity there is only two.
If we live to be a hundred years old this life is so short, “even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time.”
Where will you spend eternity?

STRESS

Paul and Timothy: For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed (burdened) out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life:
But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead. 2nd Corinthians 1:8,9

THE PROMISE Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver, in whom we trust that He will yet deliver us.
2nd Corinthians 1:10
The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations,...(trials)
2nd Peter 2:9

THE TEACHING The devil, with troubles, wants us to focus on the trivial and miss God's purpose, which is learning to trust Him.
Look past the moment and consider God's presence, and His promise never to leave you. He will bring you through the trial. In the day of trouble I will call upon thee: for thou will answer me.
Psalm 86:7

THE PLAN Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge HIM, and HE shall direct thy paths.
Proverbs 3:5,6

I am quoting this same passage of scripture as last month because I am reminded, again, how the Lord takes care of our families.
We had just gotten on 465, the interstate that circles the city of Indianapolis, when I received a call on my cell phone from our grandson.
He was stranded on the highway just about a mile from where we were, another few seconds and we would have passed him.
We picked him up and took him to get gas...fortunately that was the problem, he thought it was his transmission. He told us he had called ten people and no one answered their phones. The Lord had us just at the right place at the right time!

Again, I say, we serve an awesome God!!!

DISCIPLESHIP
A disciple is someone who submits himself to the discipline (or teaching) of someone else.
A disciple of the Lord Jesus is someone who submits themselves to Him (Jesus) and is willing to follow His instructions.
One trait of a disciple according to Jesus is "love." John 13 : 34,35

THE PROMISE
A new commandment I give unto you, That you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, if you have love one for another.

THE TEACHING
Herein is my Father glorified, that you bear much fruit; so shall you be my disciples. John 15:8

THE PLAN
Love is like a seed, if you sow it: it will reproduce and bring forth more love. Paul the apostle said in Galatians 6:7b....for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
This is an unchanging law that God set in motion, try it and see that it works.

The last of May we made our maiden voyage in our new travel trailer. It rained three of the four days that we camped. The positive side to that fact is we discovered our traveling home doesn't leak! Another positive....the falling rain brought back memories of my childhood and our house that had a tin roof; such a calming sound that puts a body right to sleep.

The Lord is so good and helps us through our inadequacies. . He placed a young couple, who were seasoned RVers, at the site directly in front of our site, to help us with setting up our camper and programming our TV so I could watch my favorite program that evening. This couple had been on a different site that was slanted and decided to move to the site across from us. Amazing, how the Lord has all those seemingly insignificant details arranged before we arrived at the park. As Isaiah states, He knows what we need before we even ask. We serve an awesome God!

Also, we met the Campground Hosts who happen to be a lovely Christian couple. We had a wonderful time of fellowship with them and were able to glean some information about becoming Campground Hosts. We are praying the Lord will open doors in various parks that we might be a witness for Him. We covet your prayers concerning this new adventure

FORGIVENESS
There are three kinds of forgiveness that are necessary.
1. Forgiveness from God, needed for salvation, which is everlasting life.
2. Our forgiveness of others who have wronged us, so we can be free from the control of the enemy, who wants us to be controlled by bitterness.
3. Forgiveness of ourselves, for the past, let it go and rejoice in Jesus.
Jesus paid the full price for all our sins at Calvary. Praise the Lord!

THE PROMISE
Psalm 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so He hath removed our transgressions (sins) from us. Also, John 8:36; Psalm 51:17b; Hebrews 8:12

THE TEACHING
The Lord will forgive all the past. That is the reason He died at Calvary. He took all our judgment, the suffering, the hell and the death so that we could be free. He paid a debt that He didn't owe, because we (all humanity) owed a debt that we couldn't pay. Praise the Lord!

THE PLAN
Read John 8:1-11 What Jesus said to the women taken in adultery He says to all, (v. 11) "Go, and sin no more."
When Satan comes to accuse you remind him that your sins are under the blood of Jesus.

Proverbs 31:10-31

This passage is often used, for a Mother's Day message. The twenty-two verses were written in the form of an acrostic in the original Hebrew language-,each verse begins with a letter of the Hebrew alphabet in its proper order. These verses are a tribute to the virtuous women, praising her deeds and character.

I am using the acrostic, WOMEN, to list five characteristics of the virtuous woman I feel all ladies could use as a pattern for their lives.

W- WISDOM. Proverbs 31:26a....She openeth her mouth with wisdom.

O- OBEDIENCE. Proverbs 31:30b....but a women that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.

M- MATURITY. Proverbs 31:25a...Strength and honor are her clothing.

E- EXAMPLE. Proverbs 31:28....Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.

N- NEEDS Proverbs 31:20b...yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.

The ultimate tribute to the virtuous woman is found in Proverbs 31:29...Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.

This is my goal in my Christian walk, that this might be said of me.
