CHRISTMAS
What is it all about? The world calls it Xmas, in an effort to exclude the Lord Jesus. But their puny effort will never exclude the Savior of mankind.

THE PROMISE- Matthew 1:18-25
Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: when as his mother Mary was espoused (betrothed) to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost (Spirit). Please read verses 19-25.

THE TEACHING
So why did Jesus come into this world?
1. To reveal the invisible God. John 1:18
2. To make a sacrifice for the sins of all of the human race. Hebrews 2:9
3. To destroy the devil and his works. 1 John 3:8

THE PLAN
At this Christmas season remember who and what it is about, “ The Lord Jesus Christ!”
The name of Jesus is never mentioned in many churches today, but God’s purpose has never changed.
Receive His free offer of salvation today, and your life will never be the same.
Romans 10:9-13

Christmas is such a special time of the year. I love all the festivities with the gifts, lights and tinsel, and I especially enjoy all the food!
But, foremost, I am thankful it is our Savior's birthday. Praise the Lord He came as a babe, grew into a man, and gave His life to pay a debt He didn't owe to redeem mankind from a debt they couldn't pay. What an ultimate gift!
As this year approaches an end, my prayer is that many will come to accept that gift so freely given!

WISDOM
What is wisdom? How do we obtain wisdom?

THE PROMISE
And unto man He said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding. Job 28:28
1. The fear of the Lord is wisdom.
2. Depart from evil is how to obtain wisdom.
3. Wisdom comes from having a relationship with the Lord.

THE TEACHING
You have received the Holy Spirit, and He lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Holy Spirit teaches you all things, and what He teaches is true…it is not a lie. So continue in what He has taught you, and continue to live in Christ. 1 John 2:27

THE PLAN
Teach me thy way, O Lord; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name. Psalm 86:11
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your heart to the Lord.
I, wisdom, live together with good judgment. I know where to discover knowledge and discernment….I love all who love me. Those who search for me will surely find me. Those who seek wisdom are the ones who will find it. Proverbs 8:12,17

Dealing with an elderly parent can be very stressful and trying yet teaches you patience and perseverance.Last week I was sharing with a friend a situation concerning my eighty- eight year old mother who is in a nursing home facility. This friend told me to practice what the Flight Attendant always instructs before the plane departs. That is, “if the oxygen mask drops down, always put yours on first then help others.” She reminded me to make sure I was taking care of myself, otherwise I would be of no use to others! Lord, I cast all my cares on you and help me to practice the “oxygen mask rule!”

THE PROMISE
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

THE TEACHING
Let the wicked forsake his ways , and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and He will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.
Isaiah 55:7

THE PLAN
And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, (sin) whereby they have sinned against me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned, and whereby they have transgressed against me.
Jeremiah 33:8

One definition of grace is unmerited favor. In this troubling, turbulent age in which we live, as a believer, I am so thankful for that divine favor!
I am looking forward to the soon coming of our dear Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, to deliver us. Hallelujah!

THE KINGDOM OF GOD

THE PROMISE

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Take therefore no thought for tomorrow: for tomorrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
Matthew 6:33,34 (Also, see James 4:13-15)

THE TEACHINGJesus is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. Revelations 19:16
His kingdom has come, is already here, and is yet to come. Jesus warned, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!” Matthew 3:2

THE PLAN

Jesus said, “ Verily I say unto you, Except you be converted, and become as little children, you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 18:3,4
In order to enter into the kingdom of God, we must become like little children with regard to our ability to believe, trust, forgive and obey.
Believe and receive Jesus as Saviour today!
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Romans 10:13

Recently, Gordon purchased a hummingbird feeder and hung it on a shepherd’s rod close to our front porch. It has been very entertaining and educational watching the birds as they feed.
The hummingbird is the smallest of birds. Their wings beat up to eighty times a second and because they can rotate their wings in a circle they are able to fly forward, backwards, up, down, sideways and hover in midair making their wings just a blur. They can fly non-stop five hundred miles over the Gulf of Mexico to migrate for the winter. What an amazing creature the Lord created!
Watching the hummingbird in action reminds me of how God supplies for even the tiniest of His creation. Why do humans fret over their needs? It is a lack of trust!
His provisions are plentiful; Philippians 4:19,
and His love is infinite; John 3:16.

HELP

THE PROMISE

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Who or what shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.
Romans 8:37

THE PLANGod is the source of our help in everything. He will never let us down!
But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Philippians 4:19

For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. James 4:14
Recently, my sixty-seven year old cousin was killed in a car accident. He retired several years ago from a large pharmaceutical company but was working part-time as a driver for an eye specialist. He was on a run when he went through a stop sign and a semi hit him broadside.
Witnesses said, he stopped at the sign but then the vehicle rolled through the intersection.
It is thought he had a heart attack and was most likely dead before the semi hit him. There is some comfort in knowing he went quickly!
He and his wife were planning to celebrate their fiftieth wedding anniversary this year and he was planning to retire from the part-time job.
I said all of that to say….we make plans in this life but the most important plan we must make is, where will we spend eternity?
In life we have many choices but with eternity there is only two.
If we live to be a hundred years old this life is so short, “even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time.”
Where will you spend eternity?
