The Lord is responsible for you being here...

February 15, 2010

and you are responsible to him while you are here.
“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord; and he delighteth in his way.”  Psalms 37:23
How many times have you said as a child or have you heard as a parent, “I didn’t ask to be born.”

That is a true statement.
None of us asked to be born, but we were. We were born and because we were born, we are responsible. We have responsibilities to others and to the One who ordained that we were born.
Every parent recognizes or should recognize the demands made on the parent by the child are because the child is looking for direction. What are my boundaries? How far can I go? They are on an endless course of exploration in touching, tasting, feeling and asking about everything. Every day is a new day filled with things they know nothing about.
There should always be positive reinforcement directed toward the child and one another. All of the promises of God directed toward His children are positive.
“For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.” II Corinthians 1:2
Our Creator ordained that you should be here! You are important to Him. He made only one of you and while you may be similar to others, you are uniquely different. Only you get to fill up the space you are in.
It is Gods desire to know you personally and to interact with you in daily experience.
“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works: and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance (fetus) was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest part of the earth. (The womb)  Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuances (nine month gestation period) were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.”  Psalm 139:14-16
“And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.”
II Corinthians 6:16
We are His children and He has oversight of our lives. As His children we are to trust Him and live out our lives in cooperation with Him.
As His child, everyday should be a day of exploration and growth as we seek the boundaries of an ever increasing relationship with our Father. Depend on Him today!
He is responsible for us being here and we are responsible to Him while we are here.

Faith and Believing

February 8, 2010

Faith is a noun…………………… Believe is a verb.

Believe is an act of your will. Having acted, you arrive at faith.  Truth is something you “do”, not just give mental assent to.
“If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” I John 1:6

To believe the Word of God is to act o...

The Gift

February 1, 2010

To reject a gift offered is to reject the one offering the gift.

Many people unwittingly hurt those they love by turning up their nose at a gift given in love because it was not what was expected. When a gift is offered, consider the value of the giver and then you will know the value of the gift.

God gave the Lord Jesus and He was not what the leadership of Israel expected, so they rejected Him, and in so doing, they rejected God.
The Lord Jesus said to the disciples, “if they receive you, t...

Difficulties

January 29, 2010

Difficulties always correspond to our disposition.

What we are always gives rise to the nature of our trouble!
What bothers you may not bother me and what bothers me may not bother you.

Why do you have trouble with certain things?  Because that is how you are independent of God. The Lord is your sufficiency for the things that trouble you.

“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; Casting down imaginations, and every high thi...

Affirmation

January 29, 2010

When you affirm something, it will become true in your life whether it is true or not. If you believe a lie about yourself, someone else, or God, it will find lodging in you and will grow until you are fully convinced it is so. A lie is equally as strong as Truth if believed.

It is most important to the Christian that they affirm the Truth of the Word of God in opposition to opinion, feelings, and other influences based on their five senses.

Both faith and unbelief are built on affirmation...

Tribulation

January 27, 2010

We are tried by the ordinary

God try’s the heart of men by the ordinary things of life. We are tried in the daily events, the grind, the same ole, same ole.  What seems to be the just another day of regularity is in truth the very environment which the Lord is working in, in order to bring us to maturity in our inner man.

God prepares men through the pressures of life. Some God-directed. Some self-imposed.
God is in the ordinary everyday things which are common...

Our Words

January 21, 2010

What comes out of your mouth is what is in your heart

"A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringesth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh." Luke 6:45

I was with my wife at a store during peak shopping hours and a family with three children was in the aisle just in front of us. The children were small and as children will do, they were exploring their en...

Unity

January 18, 2010

John 17:21 “That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.”

Unity among believers is the living witness that God sent the Lord Jesus into the world as Savior. When the world looks at Christians they will either say, surely God did send Jesus into the world because this person’s life reflects that truth; or they will say if that is what a Christian is, I don’t want to be one.
